Great Product

Will use this more in the fall, but had to try it out on receipt. It works like a dream. Just like all the Sneeboer tools. Service as always was great and got the product fast and packed well. Thanks again for being such a easy shop to order from.

Absolutely worth the price.

I planted half an order of 800 bulbs with the wrong tool before shopping for this item. I looked at quite a few and this was the most expensive by far but it is well designed, stands up to heavy use, looks great and what’s more, it has a pedigree: Any garden implement with Gertrude Jeckyll bona fides is all right in my book. I got through the other 400 in roughly half the time, with no blisters, and expect to get decades of use out of it.

The Bulb Planter of a Lifetime

I selected the Great Dixter bulb planter to take on a large naturalizing planting of daffodils (1,000 bulbs) in the pasture adjacent to our house. The pasture is not nice soft bluegrass but a mix of coarse bladed fescue with some assorted pasture grasses. The turf is dense with roots and not easily penetrated with a shovel. I dug some trial holes and this tool does a great job punching through tough turf. The features that stand out on this planter are the tapering hole cutter for easy plug removal, the double steps that allow you to use either leg for pushing or jumping to drive the planter, and the full steel wrapping to secure the planter to the handle. The Great Dixter bulb planter is built stout and will last for generations.
